The history of the Amorièrs
From vineyard to holiday resort
The vineyard
This house from the 17th century was at its beginnings a vineyard, then became a silk weaving factory (silkworm farming). Today it's a holiday resort.
The silk weaving
"Amorièrs" means in occitan "mulberry trees".
Previously, the leaves of these trees were used to feed the silkworms.
Today, there is only two one left in front of the house.
